Celebrating a major milestone for UCSF Center for Research in Transfusion Medicine and Cell Therapies! Congratulations to our multidisciplinary CTMCT team, who are part of a $10 million grant from the United States Department of Defense (DOD) awarded through the MTEC | Medical Technology Enterprise Consortium and the Armed Forces Institute of Regenerative Medicine (AFIRM). The grant will focus on conducting a multicenter trial investigating the therapeutic potential of adipose tissue mesenchymal stromal/stem cells (MSCs) in Stage 2 acute kidney injury (AKI) induced by trauma and burns. The grant is entitled “Allogenic adipose-derived mesenchymal stromal cells (MSC) for acute kidney injury after trauma or burn.”
